From Send the Light Album

Wonderful flowing Ballad. Lasting Love is Inge’s first composition she wrote in 1975. In the fall of 1974, Inge’s senior year at Kent Meridian High School in Kent, Washington, she traded in her faithful clarinet at Green River Music for a classical guitar. Inge began the adventure of learning classical style picking, and chord progressions. Inge first performed this song at the Christian Missionary Alliance Chruch in Kent, Washington. This song helped kick off her desire to write and compose more music.
The album was completed by 1997, but a house fire in July of 1997 destroyed the reel tape of the music. The album was recorded on a “TASCAM 388 STUDIO” reel to reel eight tracks, and this was destroyed in the fire. We extracted some of the songs from a 2 track from another reel to reel unto an Alexis XT20 ADAT. After having gone through two ADAT machines, we found the unit not reliable due to constant digital distortion, static discharge, and equipment failure. By 2003, we had an album completed but had difficulty in mastering the album, so the project was temporarily scraped.
It wasn’t until Inge purchased Reason Studio software in 2014 that she compiled songs for the album “Send the Light.” “Lasting Love” was digitally transferred into Reason software. From the audio two track the song went through a mix down using two equalizer and reverbs. The RE302 Graphic Equaliser made a difference in this mix in the high end. The ability to cut and boost at a particular frequency can be important especially in the high end to create air or space by increasing the frequencies from 10 to 20k. Learning to equalize your mix in a song is key to refreshing old songs. Check out this equaliser at REASON STUDIOS for more information.

Listen to the music and read the lyrics.
A Lasting Love
There are times when I'm lonely
And times when things go wrong
Then I start to look up
And wonder where I am
Things are turning round and round
It seems to get lost
That's when I look up
For His great love
A love that is lasting
It comforts and hold's me
It heals and renews me
And it gives me strength
Yes, it gives me strength
It's real when you need it
In times of distress
When nothing else works
He's always there
He comes to our refuge
With wide open arms
The one who was crucified
The one who really cares
A love that is lasting
It comforts and hold's me
It heals and renews me
And it gives me strength
Yes, it gives me strength
