Has the summer sun begun its heat wave?
We do not need that heat dome everyone raved
I got my mint julep, how about lemon iced tea?
On the ice of course, and what about the sea?
The sea, Oh! You mean the beach is the place
for fun, girls, boys, and a get away from the rat race.
Is that all you can think about?
I love watching the waves going in and out
the soft wet sandy beaches that leave footprints
It's like leaving your own fingerprint
I was here marks
and no sharks
to ruin the sunny day and be happy.
Lay out the blanket or towel and take a nappy
zone out and dream a little dream.
A romance book can let your heart scream
Always wishing and hoping what isn't there.
Just enjoy the lukewarm air
that you are breathing, for you are alive
and well, for today you are not deprived
kick off those rubber plastic sandals
and run with all your might with your paddles
jump into the waves and glide on your board.
Be a bird and not a nerd
ride the wave like a pro
and fall into the ocean all aglow
come up for air and celebrate with champaign
I think He is showing off
It's all a game until he kicks off once again.
Let's look into the basket for chicken
Fried chicken is never forbidden.
How about some Potato salad?
All is grand, all is bright, lets sing a ballad
to the day at the beach
that wonderful day at the beach.
